If it’s endurable, then endure it

If it’s endurable, then endure it. Stop complaining. ~Marcus Aurelius

But… but… but.

I know, you’re situation is different. We know it’s not, but for the sake of argument we’ll say it is.

You know what?

Bitching and complaining about it still isn’t going to make it any better or easier to deal with. Nor is it going to make it go away. So why do we do it? I guess maybe because we falsely convince ourselves that it makes us feel better. But we know it doesn’t.

Nothing Has Stopped You Yet

Life is tough. There’s no doubt about that. And it seems like every challenge that comes our way seems unsurmountable. Until it isn’t.

Think about it.

A challenge arises. You worry. You panic. You complain. But the challenge or setback, whatever you want to call it doesn’t go away. And everyone that you’ve encountered in the past, you’ve overcome. Otherwise you wouldn’t be reading this right now.

You are tougher and more resilient than you think you are. You have to implant that deep in your mind because life’s never going to stop coming at you. And when you know you can handle anything that it may throw at you, you can just keep moving forward.

Ask Yourself This

The next time life punches you in the gut, and it’s going to so be ready, ask yourself one question…

“is this endurable?”

The answer will be a resounding yes if you’re honest.

Don’t ask ‘why me,’ or ‘how am I going to overcome this,’ or ‘why can’t life be easy?’ Because those questions really don’t matter and you’re not going to get an answer.

It may take some outside help and definitely some time to get through to the other side, but you will make it when you focus on moving forward, dealing with what comes your way and doing whatever it takes to make it through.
